My camera and I have journeyed together for the past decade, chasing the elusive 'perfect' light. As a professional photographer, I've come to understand that light is not just a component of a photograph but the very essence of it. While a vast array of equipment plays a role in my photography, today, I want to focus on a particularly important element: lighting modifiers.
2022 in review
As a photographer, I always aim to capture the beauty and emotion in the world around me. And in 2022, I had the most wonderful year as a photographer. My name is Tim Engle, and I have been a photographer for 27 years. This year was not only the most fun I've had, but it was also incredibly fulfilling.
Telum Dagger
I love product photography and have been doing more of it lately.
I've always been fascinated by custom-made knives. I recently purchased Telum dagger from Bastinelli Knives and was inspired by the design to make some images.
The G.O.A.T
Recently I was asked to photograph Jerry Rice, a retired San Francisco 49er wide receiver, NFL Hall of Famer, and one of the athletes that I watched growing up. I have a great friend Stephanie Suddarth who is now the general manager of his energy drink company called G.O.A.T. fuel (Greatest of All Time).
Lana
I had a special treat this month and photographed an individual I photographed a few years ago as a model. She has transformed into an actress. Lana is a gorgeous actor out of the bay area.
Amanda
Recently, I made a trip to Los Angeles to visit and photograph my friend Amanda. Since I began photographing Amanda in 2011, she has become a very close friend and an incredible model.
Real Life Super Hero
Recently, I had the pleasure of spending time with and photographing Kawa Mawlayee ( @kawa_m_official ). He has an extremely hectic schedule managing an online retailer, "The MUSA store", tactical and combat training with Alpha Training Group and Musa, military-technical advisors for the entertainment industry. I was honored to be able to have him fit me into that schedule.
